Repetition (used with every other type of practice)
•During practice it is vital that movement patterns are repeated until the body systems (muscle and nerves) have learned to move ‘automatically’ in the newly learned way. The movement will be grooved into the muscle’s memory. We must ensure we do not do to many repetitions at one time. This could cause fatigue and boredom. It is important to provide variety and keep you motivated.
Below is an example of a repetition drill for the overhead clear in Badminton.
1-Why is it imprtant to repeat skills?
2- Idealy how many repetitions would we complete, explain why?
3- Describe a repetition drill you have performed and what affect it had on your performace.
